FULL ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport – Transfer to Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your safari representative for luggage assistance and transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Check-in is handled efficiently, giving you time to rest and recover. 

Arusha serves as the perfect safari hub, offering access to world-renowned wildlife reserves while giving a glimpse of local culture and markets.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Giants of the Baobabs

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, celebrated for its majestic baobabs and high concentrations of elephants. Game drives reveal wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, elands, and predators such as leopards and occasionally black rhinos. 

Riverine forests, scattered woodlands, and elevated plains create dynamic habitats for observing wildlife. Conclude the day with dinner at your lodge and a tranquil evening surrounded by nature.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Flamingos & Tree-Climbing Lions

Travel to Lake Manyara, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Marvel at flamingos turning shallow waters pink, watch rare tree-climbing lions, and encounter elephants, buffalo, zebras, and giraffes. Birdlife is abundant, with over 400 species, making it a birdwatcher’s paradise. 

After a picnic lunch in the park, optionally visit a Maasai village to experience local traditions, then continue to your lodge in the Ngorongoro Highlands.

Day 4-5: Central Serengeti via Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Predator & Prey

Transfer to the Central Serengeti through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The central plains support dense wildlife populations and complex predator-prey networks. Observe lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, and foxes alongside herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and elephants. 

Afternoon game drives provide perspective on the intricate ecosystem, while lodge breaks allow time to relax and reflect on the immensity of this extraordinary landscape.

Day 6-7: Southern Serengeti – The Calving Grounds

Venture into Ndutu and Moru Koppies, the epicenter of the Serengeti calving season. Witness thousands of wildebeest calves taking their first steps while predators watch and hunt. Spot cheetahs, lions, hyenas, and other wildlife exploiting the seasonal abundance. 

The unique koppie formations provide vantage points for observation and photography, and the nearby Lake Ndutu adds ecological richness to the area. Full-day drives immerse you in the drama of life, death, and survival across these plains.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater – A Wildlife Haven

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, covering 260 km² of a self-contained ecosystem. Encounter elephants, lions, buffalo, black rhinos, leopards, and hundreds of bird species. Concentrated wildlife sightings make for intense observation of behavior and interaction. Stop for a picnic lunch by a waterhole, then ascend the crater rim in the afternoon for breathtaking vistas and return to your lodge for dinner.

Day 9: Drive Back to Arusha – Departure

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge, then drive back to Arusha via Mto wa Mbu, observing rural life, small markets, and cultivated fields. Arrive in Arusha for transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, concluding your safari with memories of dramatic wildlife encounters, scenic landscapes, and an immersive Tanzanian experience.
